Professor Java's Wide Open Mic

Photos from the Scene – Professor Java’s – February 13, 2012

Javas Feb 2012

What a great crowd at Professor Java’s this past Monday night for the February, pre-Valentines Day, Wide Open Mic. Kevin Peterson took the reigns as host and quickly eased into the role like a natural. The evening was a great mix of poetry and music, new faces and old friends, love and (healing) hate, and of course, some of the best coffee in the area.

New poets to the mic included Tracey Continelli and Lisa Edmunds. They were joined by local poets Avery, Carol Jewell, Mary Panza (complete with a pinata), and Poetyc Visionz. The musical acts for the evening were an ecclectic mix featuring Marc Hecker (who apparently has a problem with the Star Spangled Banner), a returning Greg Guba, the bass player for the Normanskill Saxons, and The Ghouls.

We’ll be back next month on Monday, March 12. Sign up starts at 7:15, open mic starts at 8:00.
