Murrow is Thom Francis (spoken word, samples, effects & video, composition) and Keith Spencer (guitar, bass, keys, computers, layers, composition) masterfully blend spoken word with samples, video and a plethora of instruments.
Murrow is promising to bring a couple of new pieces to the reading along with some of their classics like “Trucker” (see video below) and the ever-popular, show stopper “Female Pedestrian”.
The Poetry Motel Foundation presents the monthly Third Thursday Poetry Night at the Social Justice Center (33 Central Ave., Albany, NY). Sign up starts at 7:00PM, the open mic begins at 7:30. Each open mic poet gets to read one poem, though since it is the Holiday Season, Dan may make an exception. There is a suggested donation of $3.00 (more if you got it, less if you can’t).
Here is the information from host Dan Wilcox via the Facebook event page:
Featuring “Murrow” (Thom Francis on Word, Keith Spencer on Guitar), with an open mic for community poets & the annual visit from Sanity Claus with a gift for each open mic poet. $3.00 donation.
