Poets Speak Loud

We return to McGeary’s on Monday, November 25, for the pre-Thanksgiving edition of Poets Speak Loud. This month we are very happy to welcome Annie Petrie Sauter back to Albany as our featured reader.

Annie Petrie Sauter is a poet of the loud and rowdy variety. She has been published in multiple journals, collections, magazines and underground press publications over the years. Her At Hand Chap Book, A Plastic Bag of Red Cells. was published by Bright Hill Press. She has also had her work published by Berkeley Women’s Collective, and Maverick Press.

Annie has done readings and performances in the Catskill Area for many years at many venues including Roxbury Arts Group, Erpf House, The Round Table in Andes, Bright Hill Center, CANO (UCCA), Woodstock Community Center and others.

She has also performed at numerous venues in NYC, including Poets House, The YMCA, and the Yippie Museum.. She frequently writes about the political and street scenes of the 1960s and 1970s as well as about more recent events such as Fracking and the treatment of special needs people. She is a watercolor and acrylic painter. She lives in Oneonta, NY with her husband Paul a ceramics artist and a dog and a cat. They have two grown daughters.

Poets Speak Loud is Albany Poets’ long-running monthly open mic for poetry and spoken word with a featured poet hosted by local poet Mary Panza at McGeary’s (4 Clinton Square) in downtown Albany on the last Monday of each and every month.

Sign-up for the open mic is 7:00pm, we start around 8pm.
