St. Rocco’s Reading Featuring Erica Kaufman, Cat Tyc, & Anna Vitale

St. Rocco’s Readings for the Dispossessed presents an evening with Erica Kaufman, Cat Tyc, and Anna Vitale.

THIS IS AN OUTDOOR EVENT at People’s Park / Gabi’s Garden – corner of Grand St. and Wilbur Street

We will have amplification.

Everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.

We will not provide refreshments at this event. Please bring your own.

There will be a few chairs, but if you can bring your own chair that’s great and helps everyone with social distancing.

This is a free event. Donations are welcome.

erica kaufman is the author of POST CLASSIC (Roof Books, 2019), INSTANT CLASSIC   (Roof Books, 2013) and censory impulse (Factory School, 2009). she is also the co-editor of NO GENDER: Reflections on the Life and Work of kari edwards (Venn Diagram, 2009), and of Adrienne Rich: Teaching at CUNY, 1968-1974 (Lost & Found: The CUNY Poetics Document Initiative, 2014). prose and critical work can be found in: The Color of Vowels: New York School Collaborations (ed. Mark Silverberg, Palgrave MacMillan, 2013), The Supposium: Thought Experiments and Poethical Play in Difficult Times (ed. Joan Retallack, Litmus Press, 2018), Approaches to Teaching the Works of Gertrude Stein (eds. L’ Esdale and D. Mix, MLA, 2018), and the forthcoming Reading Experimental Writing (ed. G. Colby, Edinburgh University Press). recent poems can be found in A Perfect Vacuum and P-Queue. kaufman is the Director of the Bard College Institute for Writing & Thinking and Visiting Assistant Professor of Humanities.

Cat Tyc is a writer/artist whose work exists on the precipice of poetic mediology. She has three chapbooks, An Architectural Seance {dancing girl press & studio}, CONSUMES ME from Belladonna* Collaborative, and I AM BECAUSE MY LITTLE DOG KNOWS ME Blush Lit). Her video work has screened in NY and internationally at spaces that include the Microscope Gallery, Anthology Film Archives, CUNY Graduate Center, Brooklyn Museum, Hauser & Wirth, and Kassel Fest. She has directed music videos that have been added to the rotation on LOGO’s NewNowNext and MTVu. She co-curates Poet Transmit which engages in the connections between poetry, transmission, and performance to explore textual practice and modes of transmission and how poetry exists in expanded fields of time. Events have been held at St. Mark’s Poetry Project, Knockdown Center and MOMA Ps1. Cat Tyc is co-director at The Home School in Hudson, NY.

Anna Vitale is a poet, a writer, and the host of the freeform radio program the Tenderness Junction on WGXC 90.7-FM, Greene and Columbia County community radio (previously on WFMU). She is interested in improvisation and psychoanalysis. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, she is the author of Detroit Detroit (Roof Books), the pamphlet Our Rimbaud Mask (Ugly Duckling Presse), and other works including Different Worlds (Troll Thread) and Unknown Pleasures (Perfect Lovers). Recent writing has appeared in Full Stop, Ear/Wave/Event, and Counter. You can find a conversation between Anna and Judah Rubin at A Perfect Vacuum. She lives in the Hudson Valley.
