Third Thursday Poetry Night featuring Caroline Bardwell

Poet Caroline Bardwell will read from her work at the Social Justice Center, 33 Central Ave., Albany on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 7:30PM.

Caroline Bardwell is the author of the recently published On and Off the Trail: a collection of poetry and photography, (The Troy Book Makers, 2019) which pairs her poetry with original black and white photography from Capital District landscapes. Her poems have been published online in Albany Poets, Up The River, The Society of Classical Poets, Westward Quarterly, Barren Magazine, AltarworkAncient Paths, The Faithful Creative, and  50 Haiku. She has performed her work at many of the local poetry open mic events, including the 2018 Readings Against the End of the World. Caroline, who resides in her hometown of Schenectady, is a local conservation geologist and sole proprietor of The Schenectady Trading Company, which hosts poetry events at The Electric City Barn in Schenectady. Her work will be presented in the Spring 2019 Local Artist Exhibit at the Mabee Farm in Rotterdam Junction, which is owned and operated by the Schenectady County Historical Society.

A reading by a local or regional poet is held each Third Thursday at the Social Justice Center.  The event includes an open mic for audience members to read.  Sign-up starts at 7:00PM, with the reading beginning at 7:30.  The host of the readings is Albany poet and photographer Dan Wilcox.  The suggested donation is $3.00, which helps support this and other poetry programs of the Poetry Motel Foundation, and the work of the Social Justice Center.
